On July 13, 2026, Giripremi successfully led all-women expedition to the summit of Mt. Mentok Kangri II (6,210 meters) in Ladakh’s remote Rupshu valley. Pushing through freezing night winds and severe Himalayan conditions, five team members stood atop the peak at 2:00 AM—a powerful triumph dedicated to championing women in high-altitude adventure sports. Driven by technical discipline, collective synergy, and the mentorship of veteran Himalayan explorers, this campaign stands as an inspiring testament to female leadership in the vertical world.

Nestled in the high-altitude wilderness of eastern Ladakh’s Rupshu Valley, Mount Mentok Kangri is a majestic mountain massif overlooking the turquoise waters of Tso Moriri Lake. Translating to “Flower Snow Peak” in Tibetan—where “Mentok” means wildflower and “Kangri” means snow ridge—the massif features three distinct summits 6,250m, 6,210m, and 6,150m connected along an exposed, high-alpine ridge. Emerging from the vast, wind-swept Changthang Plateau, it serves as an ideal gateway peak for mountaineers aiming to push into 6,000m Himalayan exploration.
The climb blends raw physical endurance with semi-technical high-altitude mountaineering. Expedition routes start from Korzok village and lead trekkers across boulder fields, steep scree slopes, and frozen headwalls that require disciplined footwork, crampons, and fixed-rope management. The surrounding ecosystem is steeped in the rich nomadic traditions of the Changpa herders, whose livestock graze in nearby alpine pastures alongside rare highland wildlife like the Kiang (Tibetan wild ass), blue sheep, and Himalayan birds.
