Giripremi Adventure Foundation Unfurls Tricolour on Mt. Yunam (6,111 m) this Independence Day
Lahaul, Himachal Pradesh – 15 August 2025: This Independence Day was celebrated at new heights—literally—when the Giripremi Adventure Foundation proudly unfurled the Indian Tricolour on the summit of Mt. Yunam (6,111 m), a breathtaking trekking peak in the Lahaul region of Himachal Pradesh.
The expedition was led by young Giripremi mountaineer Mihir Jadhav, who along with teammates Rahul Satav, Dhanraj Moze, Shrikant Nistane, and Avneesh Anshul, successfully reached the summit at dawn. Their climb was not just a mountaineering achievement but also a symbolic tribute to India’s spirit of freedom, resilience, and adventure.
The expedition was a true team effort, where every climber contributed towards the collective goal, embodying unity and perseverance, much like the values India celebrates on Independence Day.
Mt. Yunam – A Himalayan Test of Endurance
Rising at 6,111 meters, Mt. Yunam is often referred to as one of the most accessible Himalayan trekking peaks, yet it demands:
Strong acclimatization to thin air and high altitude.
Sheer willpower to tackle steep scree slopes and rocky ridges.
Physical and mental endurance to face unpredictable Himalayan weather.
While it attracts adventure seekers, reaching its summit is far from easy—making the team’s Independence Day success even more memorable.
