About Expedition

Mt. Annapurna I is world’s 10th highest and one of the most technically challenging 8000er expeditions. At a staggering height of 8091 m, annapurna I is notoriously known for avalanche hazards. 

Giripremi’s highly experienced team of 4 members is leaving to Kathmandu on 14th Mar 2021. It will be a 45 days expedition from the north side of the peak. 

  • Tenth highest mountain in the world.
  • One of the most technically difficult mountains. Yet Annapurna was the first of all 14 8000ers to be summitted.
  • On 3 June 1950, Maurice Herzog (leader of the French expedition) & Louis Lanchenal reached the top of Annapurna I.
  • The entire massif and surrounding area are protected within the 7,629-square-kilometre (2,946 sq mi) Annapurna Conservation Area, the first and largest conservation area in Nepal.
