About Expedition

Team of 6 young mountaineers of Giripremi attempted Mt. CB 13 in Lahaul Spiti region of Himachal Pradesh during July 2017.

The team in their first attempt managed to reach just below 400 m from the summit. Due to bad weather and depleted team, the attempt had to be abandoned. However, expedition leader Vivek  Shivade, made a brilliant reattempt and reached the summit just in 4 days.

  • CB 13 is the highest peak in Chandra Bhaga range of Lahaul Spiti region
  • It is a semi technical peak with some rock and ice sections to negotiate.
  • The peak is the witness to one of the terrifying Indian Air Force plane crash tragedy where over 18 soldiers had martyred on the glacier.

Team Giripremi extends their sincere support to Kosha Travel Company for sponsoring the high altitude apparel to the expedition team.

We are also thankful to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital for conducting the fitness and medical tests for the team members.

Many individuals steeped forward and donated their share; the success would not have been possible without them.
