Mt. Hanuman Tibba Expeditions - 2015

About Expedition

On 15 September at 10 am three young Giripremi mountaineers reached the top of the Mt. Hanuman Tibba located in the pir panjal range of the lesser himalayas near Manali.

The expedition to Mt. Hanuman Tibba was the third after Mt. Indrasan and Peak Nalini organized by Giripremi in 2015.

  • Hanuman Tibba is the highest mountain peak of the Dhauladhar Range
  • This peak is located near Beas Kund glacier in the Dhauladhar Range, in the North of Manali above the Solang valley, Manali, Himachal Pradesh, India
  • Hanuman Tibba is also called the solang weisshorn. 
  • It stands at an altitude of 5,982m above sea level. 
  • It is a well known local peak, partly due to it resembling a steep pyramid, with its noted feature of steep vertical rise from its base camp site. 
  • It was first scaled in 1912 by Gen C .G Bruce’s chief swiss guide – Henrich Fuhrer and a gurkha soldier named Lal Bahadur.
  • Some of its surrounding peaks are – Mt. friendship (5289 m), Shikar Beh (6,201 m), Indrasan (6222 m).
